06:30 hrs – Pickup from your hotel in Arusha City Centre and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a scenic journey with a packed picnic lunch.

Upon arrival, descend 2,000 feet (over 600 meters) into the heart of the crater floor—a vast 304-square-kilometer caldera formed millions of years ago after the eruption of a volcano once taller than Mount Kilimanjaro. This unique ecosystem offers some of the finest game-viewing opportunities in Tanzania.

Explore diverse habitats within the crater, including lush forested areas home to monkeys and elephants, the serene lake where flamingos gather, and the expansive savannah where lions hunt. With over 25,000 large mammals inhabiting the caldera, you are likely to spot not only the Big Five but also wildebeests, gazelles, reedbucks, bushbucks, hartebeests, hippos, and both Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelles. Birdwatchers will delight in over 500 bird species that call this place home.
