Explore Day-to-Day Itinerary

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to Moshi, the bustling base town for Kilimanjaro climbs. Check into The Maridadi Hotel (or similar) for a relaxing evening, dinner, and preparation for your trek.

After breakfast and a full trek briefing, drive to Marangu Gate (about 45 minutes) to officially start your climb. Hike through the lush rainforest, home to blue monkeys and exotic birds, for about four hours to reach Mandara Hut (2,750m). Enjoy dinner and your first night in the mountain huts, surrounded by nature.

Today’s trek climbs out of the forest and into the heather and moorland zone, with incredible views of Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks, Kibo and Mawenzi. Hike approximately six hours to Horombo Hut (3,720m), located in a stunning valley with unique alpine plants like giant lobelias and groundsel.

Continue past the last water point and cross the stark, moonlike alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. This seven-hour trek brings you to Kibo Hut (4,703m), your base for the overnight summit attempt. Rest early and hydrate well to prepare for the challenging ascent ahead.

Rise just after midnight for your summit push. Climb slowly up the steep scree to Gillman’s Point (5,861m) on the crater rim, reaching it by sunrise. Continue for another two hours along the edge to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the true summit of Africa! After celebrating and taking photos, begin your descent back to Horombo Hut for a well-earned night of rest.

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your official Kilimanjaro certificate. Transfer back to Moshi for a celebratory dinner and overnight at The Maridadi Hotel (or similar).

Enjoy breakfast before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight or next adventure. End of services.
