Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet our representative who will pick you up to Arusha town for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater
Today you will have an early start as you head to the Ngorongoro Crater to explore one of the new 7 Natural Wonders of Africa. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the few areas in Tanzania where you can find such a breathtaking blend of scenery and wildlife in a relatively small area by African standards! The crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world (that’s not a lake!) and was formed about 2.5 million years ago when a large volcano, rivalling Kilimanjaro in size, erupted and collapsed on itself. There are around 30,000 animals ranging from leopard, cheetah, elephants and hyena to warthog, buffalo and impala. It’s also one of the best places to see the endangered black rhino and black-manned male lions.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Olduvai and Ndutu
Another day in Ngorongoro Conservation Area for activities. Culturally the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to approximately 40,000 people, mostly Masai who live off the land and move with the needs of their animals (sheep, goats, cattle, donkeys) which you will observe more closely as you drop down from the crater rim to the southern plains. You will be heading to Olduvai Gorge that holds the earliest evidence of the existence of human ancestors. Paleoanthropologists have found hundreds of fossilized bones and stone tools in the area dating back millions of years, leading them to conclude that humans evolved in Africa.
Day 4: Full Day Game viewing in Ndutu, Southern Serengeti
After early breakfast you will depart the accommodation with your packed picnic lunch boxes ready for the full day game viewing in Ndutu area, Southern Serengeti National Park. December and March, huge herds of wildebeests and zebras will be seen, with calves and foals being born between January and March. The vast grasslands of the Ndutu cover an impressive expanse, gradually fading into the Serengeti. As such, we need an extra day to fully explore this beautiful area. After breakfast, you will start an early morning game drive in Ndutu. Here you will be able to see signs of new life! This park is part of the pathway for more than two million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope, and gazelle every year during their great migration. Here these plains turn into a playground for the young. Your action-packed game drive will end late in the evening when you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Arusha
It’s time to say goodbye to the wilds of Tanzania. Today, after breakfast, you will leave the national parks and head back to Arusha, for your next adventure or fly back home.
